On the 15th March 2018 staff and pupils took part in Chamberlain Book Day! It was a pleasure to see staff and pupils dressed up as their favourite book characters. Prizes were awarded to the best costumes in each year group. Congratulations to all of the winners and to everyone who took part in the day.
On this day we also had a visit from the author Julia Golding. She delivered interactive assemblies with lower and upper phase. She was also interviewed by the Library Monitors and on Ark Radio. In the afternoon she autographed books for pupils and conducted a Creative Writing Workshop. This was such a brilliant day!

The book of the month for February 2018 is ‘Young Knights – Merlin’. This book is written by Julia Golding. This book was chosen to coincide with Julia Golding’s author visit to celebrate Chamberlain Book Day. This book will appeal to advanced readers. It is based upon the legends of King Arthur. Readers will become hooked on the plot and on the interesting characters in this book. If you are a fan of Julia Golding books then I would defintely recommend this book to you!
